Donovan McNabb Traded To Redskins | Too Bad, Eagles Fans
The average Philadelphia Eagles fan will probably want to either dance in the streets or chuck batteries at the Energizer Bunny (because he didn’t run quite long enough) with a headline like “Donovan McNabb traded to Redskins.” The former group has focused in on his supposedly inaccurate arm and lack of Super Bowl victories. The latter is just surly. They are the exact same group who would boo Mike Schmidt and Santa Claus.
As stated by the Washington Post, McNabb’s new home is glad to have the six-time Pro Bowler. Philadelphia was bold to move him, and the result will most likely be something that falls short of but will still resemble bold ineptitude. Take full pleasure in the Phillies this season, Eagles fans. They’re worth it. On the other hand, Michael Vick at QB is not. A wait-and-see would be Kevin Kolb – either a mediocre QB or a sleeper who will be getting a big salary cash advance soon.
This could mean a starting QB for D.C. with McNabb being traded to Redskins
McNabb traded to the Redskins also means that where there was uncertainty with Jason Campbell, now Washington knows what they’re getting. A second-round draft pick (37th pick overall) and a fourth-round pick in 2011 was all they had to give up to get him. If McNabb performs well, however, that 2011 pick could become a third-round selection, says the Post.
Don’t expect a performance like what he turned in during 2004, when he was the NFC’s Offensive Player of the Year and led the Eagles to Super Bowl XXXIX. For McNabb’s accuracy critics, chew on this: 31 touchdowns, 8 interceptions and a 104.7 quarterback rating. Now gobble down that greasy sandwich and wipe your hands on your filthy undershirt and Underoos. Just keep your football “knowledge” to yourselves and cover your nose and mouth when you sneeze. If I’m waiting in the payday loans line, I certainly don’t want your mutant germs all over me.
Donovan McNabb – achieving four straight division titles and five conference champions for the Eagles
Of course he would have traded it all in for Super Bowl victory, but really, how many other worthy quarterbacks never won the Super Bowl? Donovan McNabb ranks highly well among them. With over 32,000 passing yards and 200 touchdowns – stats that are actually better than John Elway’s, when touchdowns to interceptions are considered – “McNabb traded to the Redskins” should make D.C. fans smile. This man can still play football.
